618. The municipal judge or, if there are several municipal judges, the senior judge, with the approval of the council, may appoint as many bailiffs of the Municipal Court as he may deem expedient, and may, with the same approval, dismiss them.
The bailiffs so appointed shall take oath before the judge who appointed them, for the faithful performance of the duties of their office, and shall be officers of the said court.
Every municipal judge shall also have the right to call upon the services of the constables of the municipality in the interest of justice.
