68. Where this Act requires that a system, norm, standard or other element for the use of technologies be approved by a recognized body to establish that it is capable of fulfilling a specific function, the recognition may be given by(1) the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) or the International Telecommunication Union (ITU);
(2) the Standards Council of Canada or a body accredited by that Council; or
(3) the Bureau de normalisation du Québec.
The recognition may include a reference to a process or documentation developed by an experts group, such as the Internet Engineering Task Force or the World Wide Web Consortium.
