25. Each registrar, saving any one to whom a salary is accorded under this act, shall, within twenty days after he has taken the oath of office, appoint a deputy, and, upon the death, resignation or removal of any registrar, his deputy shall execute the office of registrar until another person is appointed and takes upon himself the said office, after having received his commission and having discharged the duties imposed by section 9 of the Public Officers Act (chapter E-6).
In the cases provided for in the second paragraph of section 1 of the Public Officers Act (chapter E-6), the deputy registrar shall continue to act as such under the direction of the joint registrar.
The Minister of Justice may temporarily appoint a deputy registrar, when a registrar who is remunerated ceases to perform his duties and there is no joint registrar or deputy to perform the duties of such officer. The duration of such appointment shall not exceed three months and shall end as soon as the officer is replaced.
