196. The warden of the regional county municipality is elected for a term of two years.
He may continue in office only so long as he remains the mayor of a municipality in the territory of the regional county municipality; however, he shall remain in office until the election of his successor.
The warden may be removed, at any time, by the affirmative vote of the absolute majority of the members of the council, provided that his successor is elected at the same sitting.
