40. A person found guilty of an offence other than an offence under section 39 is liable,
(a)  in the case of a natural person, to a fine of $600 to $6,000; or
(b)  in any other case, to a fine of $1,000 to $40,000.
For a subsequent offence, the offender is liable to a fine with minimum and maximum limits twice as high as those prescribed in subparagraph a or b of the first paragraph, as applicable.

40. Every person convicted of an offence other than an offence under section 39 is liable to a fine of $500 to $2 500 and, for a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of $1 000 to $5 000.

40. Every person convicted of any other offence against this Act or the regulations is liable to a fine of not less than $250 nor more than $500 for each offence and a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1 000 for each subsequent conviction.

40. Every person found guilty of any other offence against this act or the regulations is liable, on summary proceedings, in addition to the costs, to a fine of not less than $250 nor more than $500 for each offence and a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1 000 for each subsequent offence within two years.
