30. The spreading of fertilizers is prohibited in the following areas:(1) a watercourse or body of water as well as within its riparian strip the boundaries of which are defined by municipal by-law; and
(2) in the absence of a riparian strip defined by municipal by-law:(a) in a watercourse, a lake, a swamp having a minimum area of 10,000 m2 or a pond as well as within its 3 m riparian strip; and
(b) in an agricultural ditch and within a 1 m strip from it.
Subparagraph a of subparagraph 2 of the first paragraph applies to the sections of watercourses whose total flow area (average width multiplied by the average height) is greater than 2 m2.
Livestock waste must be spread in such manner that there is no runoff from the waste into the areas described in the first paragraph.
For the purpose of determining the riparian strip from the sites referred to in the first paragraph, the measurement shall be taken from the high-water mark. Where there is a slope, that space shall include a width of at least 1 m at the top of the slope.
