Section 219
Disposition versions
219. Before a hoist is put into service for the first time and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 5 years, the main shaft of the hoist, the axes of the control devices, the drums, the brake rods and any other important part that could affect the safe operation of the hoist shall be checked by some form of non-destructive testing, such as ultrasound, X-ray or magnetic particle testing.
