11. The owner of a refrigeration or air conditioning unit on which a halocarbon leak is detected must immediately(1) stop the leak using any appropriate means;
(2) in the case of a liquid halocarbon, recover the halocarbon that has leaked and remove any material contaminated by the halocarbon that is not cleaned or treated on the premises.
Where the unit has a power rating equal to or greater than 20 kW, the owner must also, within 48 hours of becoming aware of the defect, have the halocarbon in the part of the unit where the leak has been detected recovered and have the quantity of halocarbons released during the leak assessed by a person referred to in section 44.
In addition, a gaseous halocarbon must be recovered using the appropriate equipment meeting or exceeding AHRI Standard 740-1998 referred to in the third paragraph of section 10.
