161. The Minister does not reimburse the cost of replacing a hearing device that is lost, destroyed or stolen or that was used in contravention of the manufacturer’s instructions.
However, the Minister reimburses, on the conditions set out in this Regulation, the cost of adjusting, maintaining or repairing a hearing device acquired by a person who is a victim to replace a hearing device referred to in the first paragraph if the hearing device is compatible with the other hearing device for which the Minister assumed the cost, where applicable. In such a case, the person who is a victim must provide the Minister with a supporting document containing the following information:(1) proof of purchase of the prosthesis;
(2) the date of purchase;
(3) information about the brand and model of the device.
A hearing device purchased by a person who is a victim is deemed to be warranted for a period of 2 years following its date of purchase.
