9. Podiatrists must practise the profession in accordance with the recognized standards of practice and the present state of knowledge in podiatry. For that purpose, they must in particular(1) use the appropriate scientific methods and, where necessary, ask for the advice of another member of the Order;
(2) not resort to insufficiently tested examinations, investigations or treatments, unless they are part of a research project approved beforehand by an ethics committee, complying with the standards in force and carried out in a recognized scientific milieu;
(3) refrain from performing acts that are unwarranted from a podiatry point of view, in particular by performing them more frequently than necessary or dispensing them in an exaggerated manner.
