83. An optometrist is responsible for the content of an advertisement or a public statement concerning the optometric services offered by an organization in which the optometrist practises, unless it is established that the advertisement or the statement was made without the optometrist’s knowledge, without the optometrist’s consent and despite the specific measures the optometrist took to comply with the rules prescribed by this Code and, where applicable, by the other laws and regulations referred to in section 4.
