102. If it is in a cage that protects it against predators or if it is under the constant supervision of its keeper, a bird of prey may be kept leashed, for a period not exceeding 24 hours, by means of a leash fixed to jesses attached to the bird’s tarsi.
However, the bird may be kept leashed for a longer period of time in one of the following cases:(1) during the small game hunting season if the bird is allowed to fly each week and is kept by the holder of a small game with a bird of prey hunting licence issued in accordance with the Regulation respecting hunting (chapter C-61.1, r. 12); (2) if the bird is allowed to fly each week as part of its training, shows, presentations to the public or activities for the management of intrusive animals;
(3) during the season where its weight is lowered owing to its training.
