97. Subject to sections 102 and 124, the licence plate of the following road vehicles, if they belong to a natural person and are used mainly for personal purposes, shall bear no prefix:(1) passenger vehicles;
(2) motor homes with a net weight of 3,000 kg or less.
Notwithstanding the first paragraph, a licence plate bearing the prefix “VA2” or “VE2” may be issued to the owner of a passenger vehicle who holds a ham radio operator’s licence.
Subject to sections 125 and 126, the fees payable to retain the right to operate a road vehicle covered by the first or second paragraph are $115. The fees fixed in the third paragraph are reduced by $52, where the owner’s principal residence is located in a peripheral region described in section 2R1 of the Regulation respecting the application of the Fuel Tax Act (chapter T-1, r. 1).
The fees fixed in the third paragraph are reduced by $26, where the owner’s principal residence is located in a specified region described in section 2R1 of the Regulation respecting the application of the Fuel Tax Act.
