It is forbidden for any person, company, corporation, partnership, society, club or association of persons whatsoever, to publish, exhibit, distribute, or cause to be published, exhibited or distributed, any advertisement, newspaper notice, poster, prospectus, circular or programme referring to the performance, in whole or in part, of any work or of various works, literary, dramatic, lyric or musical, without stating therein, accurately and completely, the name of such person, company, corporation, partnership, club or association, and the title and the author of such work or works.

Whosoever is guilty of any infringement of this act, shall be liable, on summary conviction, over and above all other legal recourses, to a fine not more than $100 and costs, and, on failure to pay such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than one month.

In the case of a company, corporation, partnership, society, club or other association of persons, the president, the manager or other chief executive officer thereof, shall be subject to the above imprisonment, on failure to pay the fine and costs.

Every fine imposed under the authority of this act shall belong to the Crown for the use of the Province.
Every suit for the recovery of the fine imposed by this act may be instituted by any person of lawful age in his own individual name, in accordance with sections 8 to 11 of the Penal Actions Act (chapter A-5), or sections 4, 5 and 6 of the same act.

REPEAL SCHEDULE
In accordance with section 17 of the Act respecting the consolidation of the statutes (chapter R-3), chapter 51 of the Revised Statutes, 1964, in force on 31 December 1977, is repealed effective from the coming into force of chapter R-25 of the Revised Statutes.
