The clerks of the courts in Québec shall send to the Société québécoise d’information juridique (the company) a copy of every judicial decision delivered with reasons. The clerks of the quasi-judicial tribunals in Québec shall send to the company a copy of every quasi-judicial decision delivered with reasons, where an agreement for publication has been entered into with the company.

The company shall take note of the decisions and shall select them with a view to including them in company publications.

A decision may be selected if it contains any of the following:
(
1
)
a new point of law;
(
2
)
a new departure in case law;
(
3
)
unusual facts;
(
4
)
substantial documentary information;
(
5
)
a discussion of a specific social problem.
The above considerations also govern the manner in which the decision is reported, whether verbatim, in summary or by extract, in tabular form or otherwise.

The name of any party or interested person shall be mentioned, subject to any statutory or judicial provision to the contrary.
