24. Returning officers and their aides, election clerks and their assistants, polling officers, enumerators, revisors, and the secretaries and investigating assistants of boards of revisors are election officers.
Election officers are chosen from among the persons qualified to vote.
Before taking office, a returning officer shall make the oath provided in Schedule A before the chief electoral officer or the person designated by him; other election officers shall make the same oath before the returning officer or the person designated by him.
Election officers shall comply with the directives of the chief electoral officer.
