2648. Property which, under the Code of Civil Procedure (chapter C-25.01), may be exempted or is exempt from seizure and falls within the limits specified by that Code cannot be seized.

2648. The movable property of the debtor which furnishes his principal residence, used by and necessary for the life of the household, may be exempted from seizure to the extent fixed by the Code of Civil Procedure (chapter C-25), except where such movables are seized for sums owed on the price.
The same rule applies to instruments of work needed for the personal exercise of a professional activity, except where such movables are seized by a creditor holding a hypothec thereon.
