293. The corporation may operate, maintain and repair the public transport system known as the “Metro” running from a point situated in Montréal near Viger Park, going under the St. Lawrence river, under the Seaway and on the land bordering the Seaway and along the said Seaway within the limits of the municipalities of Saint-Lambert and Longueuil to a point situated in the City of Longueuil.
The corporation, with the approval of the Community, and the cities of Longueuil and Saint-Lambert are authorized to make with the Government of Canada or any body under federal jurisdiction any agreement necessary for carrying out such undertaking; such agreement must be ratified by the Minister and the Minister of Transport; the corporation shall be in the rights and obligations of the City of Montréal with respect to such agreements as the City of Montréal has already made.
For such purposes, the corporation shall have the powers contemplated in section 292.
The corporation shall have jurisdiction to operate outside of its territory the public transport system described in this section.
