117. The members of a disciplinary council other than the chair are appointed by the board of directors of the order from among the order’s members. The board of directors shall fix the duration of their term, which must be at least three years.
The board of directors shall make sure that disciplinary council members, other than the chair, are offered training that is related to their functions. The training must in particular cover the derogatory acts referred to in section 59.1 and such acts of a similar nature as are set out in the code of ethics of the members of the professional order.

The disciplinary council shall consist of at least three members, including a chair who shall be appointed by the Government, after consultation with the Barreau du Québec, from among the advocates who have at least 10 years’ practice; the Government shall fix the duration of the chair’s term, which must be at least three years. At least two other members shall be designated by the board of directors of the order from among the members of the order; the board of directors shall fix the duration of their terms, which must be at least three years.
In choosing the chair, the Government may consider to be years of practice the years during which a person acquired pertinent legal experience after obtaining a permit to practise the profession of advocate, a diploma of admission to the Barreau du Québec or a certificate of competence to practise the profession of advocate.
Whenever possible, the person appointed by the Government as the chair of a council shall also be appointed as the chair of the disciplinary council of other orders.

The Committee shall consist of at least three members, including a chairman who shall be appointed by the Government, after consultation with the Barreau du Québec, from among the advocates who have at least 10 years’ practice; the Government shall fix the duration of the chairman’s term. At least two other members shall be designated by the Bureau of the order from among the members of the order; the Bureau shall fix the duration of their terms.
In choosing the chairman, the Government may consider to be years of practice the years during which a person acquired pertinent legal experience after obtaining a permit to practise the profession of advocate, a diploma of admission to the Barreau du Québec or a certificate of competence to practise the profession of advocate.
Whenever possible, the person appointed by the Government as the chairman of a committee shall also be appointed as the chairman of the committee on discipline of other orders.

At least two other members shall be designated by the Bureau of the corporation from among the members of the corporation.
In choosing the chairman, the Government may consider to be years of practice the years during which a person acquired pertinent legal experience after obtaining a permit to practise the profession of advocate, a diploma of admission to the Barreau du Québec or a certificate of competence to practise the profession of advocate.
