592.3. For the purposes of sections 592.1 and 592.2, a person who rents a road vehicle under a short-term rental contract or a person who borrows a courtesy vehicle from a garage operator or a test vehicle from a dealer is deemed to be the owner of the vehicle.
This section does not apply if the person that rented out or lent the road vehicle fails to send, within five days after the authorized person requests it, the information concerning the renter or borrower that is required for the service of a statement of offence on the renter or borrower.
