578. (Repealed).
R. S. 1964, c. 193, s. 615; 1990, c. 4, s. 184.
578. Failing immediate payment of the fine imposed by the court, and the costs, after the rendering of the judgment, the person condemned may be imprisoned, except in cases where it is otherwise provided, for any term of not more than thirty days; which imprisonment, however, shall cease on payment of the sum due.
Such imprisonment shall discharge the person who undergoes it from the obligation of satisfying the judgment against him.
