9. Every person who contravenes any provision of this Act is liable to a fine not exceeding $50, and, for a second or any subsequent conviction, to a fine of $100 to $200.

9. Every person who infringes any provision of this act shall be liable, in addition to the costs, to a fine not exceeding $50, and, in default of payment of the fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than one month, and, in the event of a further offence, in addition to the costs, to a fine of not less than $100 and not over $200, and, in default of payment of the fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than two months.
