408. Every person convicted of an offence under a provision of this Act or the regulations is liable to a minimum fine of $1,000 for a natural person and $3,000 for a legal person, double the profit realized or one fifth of the sums entrusted to or collected by the person, whichever is the greatest amount.
However, in the case of an offence under paragraph b, c, e or u of section 406, the minimum fine is $5,000, double the profit realized or one fifth of the sums entrusted to or collected by the person, whichever is the greatest amount.
In all cases, the maximum fine is $50,000 for a natural person and $200,000 for a legal person, four times the profit realized or half the sums entrusted to or collected by the person, whichever is the greatest amount.
In the case of a second or subsequent conviction, the minimum and maximum fines are doubled.
However, every natural or legal person contemplated in section 407 convicted of an offence under paragraph r of section 406 is liable to a fine of $5,000 to $200,000.

408. Every natural or legal person contemplated in section 407 convicted of an offence against a provision of this Act or of the regulations thereunder is liable to a fine of $700 to $35 225 and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of $1 400 to $70 000; every other person convicted of such an offence is liable to a fine of $175 to $2 800 and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of $700 to $13 975.
However, every natural or legal person contemplated in section 407 convicted of an offence under paragraph r of section 406 is liable to a fine of $5 000 to $50 000.

Every natural or legal person contemplated in section 407 convicted of an offence against a provision of this Act or of the regulations thereunder is liable to a fine of $575 to $29 000 and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of $1 150 to $57 500$; every other person convicted of such an offence is liable to a fine of $125 to $2 300 and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of $575 to $11 500.
However, every natural or legal person contemplated in section 407 convicted of an offence under paragraph r of section 406 is liable to a fine of $5 000 to $50 000.

Every physical or moral person contemplated in section 407 found guilty of an offence is liable, on summary proceeding, in addition to payment of the costs, to a fine of not less than $575 nor more than $29 000 for each offence and to a fine of not less than $1 150 nor more than $57 500 for each subsequent offence within two years; every other person found guilty of an offence is liable, on summary proceeding, in addition to payment of the costs, to a fine of not less than $125 nor more than $2 300 for each offence and not less than $575 nor more than $11 500 for each subsequent offence within two years.
