87. The judges shall be appointed from among advocates having at least ten years’ practice.
The years during which a person acquired pertinent legal experience after obtaining a diploma of admission to the Barreau du Québec or a certificate of competence to practice the profession of advocate in Québec may be considered years of practice.

87. Every judge of the sessions, before entering into office, shall take the following oath of office before the chief judge, the senior associate chief judge or the associate chief judge of the sessions:
“I, (name and surname), swear that I will faithfully, impartially and honestly, to the best of my knowledge and ability, fulfil all the duties and exercise all the powers of judge of the sessions.”
