STANDARDS FOR EQUIVALENCE OF TRAINING
2. For the purposes of determining whether training is equivalent to that acquired by the holder of a diploma recognized by the Government under the first paragraph of section 184 of the Professional Code (chapter C-26) as giving access to a specialist’s certificate in clinical biochemistry, the board of directors shall evaluate that training in terms of the standards described in section 3.
O.C. 1229-89, s. 2.
3. A candidate shall be granted an equivalence for training where he shows that he possesses a level of knowledge equivalent to that acquired to earn a diploma upon completing post-graduate university studies including:
(1)  not less than 9 credits in post-graduate level biochemistry courses or in a related field recognized by the board of directors;
(2)  not less than 36 months of studies and research at a university in biochemistry;
(3)  the writing and defence of a doctoral thesis based on research the candidate carries out.

5. Within 15 days following its decision not to recognize an application for the equivalence of training referred to in Division II, the board of directors shall inform the candidate in writing of the program of studies, training periods or examinations whose successful completion, considering his current level of knowledge, would permit him to receive that equivalence.
O.C. 1229-89, s. 5.
