605. The council of any city or town may, by by-law which must be approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and by the Minister of Justice, establish a court of record in the municipality, called the “Municipal Court”, which shall be presided over by a municipal judge appointed in the manner hereinafter provided.
The court shall sit in the town hall or at any other place fixed by the council at its discretion.
Such court shall have a seal.
The council shall not abolish a municipal court which it has established except by a by-law which must be approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and by the Minister of Justice.
