During the day of the polling every person who keeps open, in any ward of a municipality in which a poll is situated, any bar in a hotel or club, or any tavern, shop or store, whether licensed or not, in which alcoholic beverages are ordinarily sold, shall be guilty of an offence triable summarily, and liable to a fine of fifty dollars, and, on failure to pay such fine, to imprisonment for not more than three months.
