321. Voting takes place from 8 o’clock in the morning until 6 o’clock in the evening. It is done by ballot, in accordance with Chapter XII of this Title.
The council may, however, by by-law, fix a later hour than 6 o’clock, but not later than 8 o’clock in the evening, for the closing of the voting.
When, according to the valuation roll in force, the municipality contains more than 300 electors or is divided into electoral districts, the voting must be held at more than one place or more than one polling station.
Regardless of the number of electors, if the extent of the territory of the municipality renders such measure necessary, in the opinion of the council, it may by by-law order the voting held at more than one place.
In either of the cases provided for in the third and fourth paragraphs, voting is held in accordance with Chapter XIII of this Title.
When it is necessary to hold the voting at more than one place, the decision of the presiding officer or the by-law of the council, as the case may be, must be adopted in due time for the publication of the notice provided for in article 303.
