184. The poll shall be opened at nine hours and kept open until eighteen hours the same day. Each deputy returning officer shall, during that time, in the polling station assigned to him, receive, in the manner hereinafter prescribed, the votes of the electors duly qualified to vote at such polling station; he shall however give precedence in voting to workmen, artisans and employees in factories between nine hours and eleven hours. Moreover, the council may, by by-law, fix a later hour than eighteen hours, but not later than twenty hours in the same day, for the closing of the poll.
