42. The mayor, clerk-treasurer or clerk of a municipality who refuses or neglects to comply with the provisions of section 36 or with the regulations made under section 41, or who gives false or obviously insufficient information, shall be liable to a fine of not less than $50, nor more than $500.

The mayor, secretary-treasurer or clerk of a municipality, or the president or secretary-treasurer of a school board, or the Conseil scolaire de l’île de Montréal, who refuses or neglects to comply with the provisions of section 36, or with the regulations made under section 41, or who gives false or obviously insufficient information, shall be liable to a fine of not less than $50, nor more than $500.
