90. The Government shall, by a commission under the Great Seal, appoint from among the judges of the Court, the chief judge and, after consultation with the latter, the senior associate chief judge, an associate chief judge for each division of the Court and an associate chief judge responsible for municipal courts.
The chief judge and the senior associate chief judge shall reside in the territory of Ville de Québec or in the immediate vicinity thereof, where they shall exercise their functions.

The Government shall, by a commission under the Great Seal, appoint from among the judges of the Court, the chief judge and, after consultation with the latter, a senior associate chief judge for each of the regional sections of the Court and, within each of those sections, an associate chief judge for each division of the Court. Notwithstanding the foregoing, two associate chief judges shall be appointed for the Civil Division of the Regional Section of Montréal.
The judges shall exercise their functions at Montréal or at Québec. They shall reside in the city or in the immediate vicinity where they exercise their functions.

90. In the districts of Québec and Montréal, the Court of the Sessions of the Peace shall hold its sittings at the chief-place of each of such districts or at any place fixed by the Government, every juridical day in the year, or as despatch of business may require.
