The jurisdictions of the Court of Appeal, the Superior Court and the Court of Québec are general and cover the whole of Québec; the jurisdiction of the Municipal Courts is restricted to localities and the jurisdiction of the justices of the peace is provided for by law or by their deed of appointment.
