181. The Government may, by regulation, amend Schedules IV and V to modify, add to or reduce the functions and powers of presiding or administrative justices of the peace.
Despite sections 11 and 17 of the Regulations Act (chapter R-18.1), the regulation may be made after the expiry of 15 days from the publication of the draft regulation in the Gazette officielle du Québec and comes into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette officielle du Québec or any later date specified in the regulation.

181. Whenever any vessel belonging to Her Majesty’s navy is in the Gulf or River St. Lawrence, every officer attached or belonging to such vessel and holding the commission of vice-admiral, post-captain, captain or commander in such navy, and any lieutenant in such navy having the command of such vessel, shall be ex officio a justice of the peace for the districts of Gaspé, Baie-Comeau, Charlevoix and Rimouski, while such vessel is within Québec, and shall have all the powers and authority of any justice of the peace appointed under section 180, and shall enjoy the exemptions granted by this division as to residence and property qualification, and need not take any oath of office.
