T-11.001 - Act respecting the remuneration of elected municipal officers

21.1. Subject to sections 21.2 and 21.3, the total annual remuneration a member of the council of a municipality is entitled to receive for all duties performed within the municipality, a mandatary body of the municipality or a supramunicipal body may not exceed the amount established for the position the member holds among those referred to in the second paragraph. For each subparagraph of that paragraph, the amount is established in accordance with Division VI.
The following positions are subject to separate maximum annual remunerations:
(1)  the mayor of Ville de Montréal;
(2)  the mayor of Ville de Québec;
(3)  the mayor of a municipality with a population of 300,000 or more;
(4)  the mayor of a municipality with a population of 100,000 to 299,999;
(5)  the mayor of a municipality with a population of 50,000 to 99,999;
(6)  a member of the executive committee of a metropolitan community or the chair or vice-chair of a standing committee of a metropolitan community;
(7)  the warden of a regional county municipality elected in accordance with section 210.29.2 of the Act respecting municipal territorial organization (chapter O‐9);
(8)  a member of the council of a municipality, other than a member referred to in subparagraphs 1 to 7 or section 21.2.

For the fiscal year 2017, the maximum amounts established for the positions referred to in the second paragraph of this section concerning the total annual remuneration a member of the council of a municipality is entitled to receive, are as follows:
(1) for the mayor of Ville de Montréal, $168,029;
(2) for the mayor of Ville de Québec, $159,442;
(3) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 300,000 or more, $153,922;
(4) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 100,000 to 299,999, $144,726;
(5) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 50,000 to 99,999, $118,968;
(6) for a member of the executive committee of a metropolitan community or the chair or vice-chair of a standing committee of a metropolitan community, $126,493;
(7) for the warden elected in accordance with section 210.29.2 of the Act respecting municipal territorial organization, $79,722;
(8) for a member of the council of a municipality, other than a member referred to in subparagraphs 1 to 7 of the second paragraph of this section or section 21.2 of this Act, $104,969.

(1) for the mayor of Ville de Montréal, $165,373;
(2) for the mayor of Ville de Québec, $156,922;
(3) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 300,000 or more, $151,489;
(4) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 100,000 to 299,999, $142,438;
(5) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 50,000 to 99,999, $117,088;
(6) for a member of the executive committee of a metropolitan community or the chair or vice-chair of a standing committee of a metropolitan community, $124,494;
(7) for the warden elected in accordance with section 210.29.2 of the Act respecting municipal territorial organization, $78,462;
(8) for a member of the council of a municipality, other than a member referred to in subparagraphs 1 to 7 of the second paragraph of this section or section 21.2 of this Act, $103,310.

(1) for the mayor of Ville de Montréal, $162,929;
(2) for the mayor of Ville de Québec, $154,603;
(3) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 300,000 or more, $149,250;
(4) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 100,000 to 299,999, $140,333;
(5) for the mayor of a municipality with a population of 50,000 to 99,999, $115,358;
(6) for a member of the executive committee of a metropolitan community or the chair or vice-chair of a standing committee of a metropolitan community, $122,654;
(7) for the warden elected in accordance with section 210.29.2 of the Act respecting municipal territorial organization, $77,302;
(8) for a member of the council of a municipality, other than a member referred to in subparagraphs 1 to 7 of the second paragraph of this section or section 21.2 of this Act, $101,783.
