237. Every person who, by an act or omission, does anything that directly and seriously compromises the health, safety or physical or mental well-being of a worker is guilty of an offence and liable,
(1)  in the case of a natural person, to a fine of not less than $1,500 nor more than $3,000 for a first offence, a fine of not less than $3,000 nor more than $6,000 for a second offence, and a fine of not less than $6,000 nor more than $12,000 for a third or subsequent offence;
(2)  in the case of a legal person, to a fine of not less than $15,000 nor more than $60,000 for a first offence, a fine of not less than $30,000 nor more than $150,000 for a second offence, and a fine of not less than $60,000 nor more than $300,000 for a third or subsequent offence.

Every person who, by action or omission, does anything that will directly and seriously compromise the health, safety or physical well-being of a worker is liable to a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1,000 in the case of a natural person, and to a fine of not less than $5,000 nor more than $20,000 in the case of a legal person.
For any subsequent offence, the fines provided for in the first paragraph are increased to a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $2,000, in the case of a natural person, and to a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $50,000 in the case of a legal person.

For any subsequent offence, the fines provided for in the first paragraph are increased to a minimum of $1 000 and a maximum of $2 000, in the case of an individual, and to a minimum of $10 000 and a maximum of $50 000 in the case of a corporation.

237. Every person who, by action or omission, does anything that will directly and seriously compromise the health, safety or physical well-being of a worker is liable, on summary proceedings, in addition to the costs, to a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1 000 or to imprisonment for not under two months nor over six months, or both, in the case of an individual, and to a fine of not less than $5 000 nor more than $20 000 in the case of a corporation.
For any subsequent offence, the fines and terms of imprisonment provided for in the first paragraph are increased to a minimum of $1 000 and a maximum of $2 000 and to a minimum of four months and a maximum of twelve months, in the case of an individual, and to a minimum of $10 000 and a maximum of $50 000 in the case of a corporation.
