26. If an officer resigns or is dismissed or if his office is abolished before he qualifies for a pension or a deferred annuity, he is entitled to the reimbursement of his contributions.
In case of death, the contributions shall be reimbursed to his spouse or, if he has no spouse, to his successors.

26. The Commission, upon the application of a beneficiary other than a beneficiary contemplated in the first paragraph of section 24.1, may, at any time after the pension becomes payable, make cash payment of the commuted value of a pension, deferred annuity or widow’s or widower’s pension amounting to not more than $700 annually, in accordance with the standards established by regulation.
The amount of $700 is, at the time prescribed under section 119 of the Act respecting the Québec Pension Plan (chapter R-9), indexed annually by the rate of increase of the Pension Index established by the said Act.

26. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of this act, the Commission, upon application of the beneficiary and at any time after the pension becomes payable, may make cash payment of the commuted value of a pension, deferred pension or a widow’s or widower’s pension amounting to less than $300 annually, in accordance with the standards established by regulation of the Government.
