37. For the purposes of subparagraph 1 of the first paragraph of section 34.2, the average pensionable salary may in no case be less than $7,000.

37. In this plan, the expression pensionable salary means the salary paid to an employee in the course of one year and the salary he would have been entitled to during a period of absence to which salary insurance applies.
