O-8.1 - Act respecting police organization

4. The institute shall be administered by a board of directors composed of 14 members as follows:
(1)  a chairman;
(2)  a representative of the Ministère de la Sécurité publique;
(3)  a representative of the Ministère de l’Éducation;
(4)  three representatives of the Police Force, including the director general and another member from the association responsible for defending the interests of policemen;
(5)  three representatives of the Communauté urbaine de Montréal, including the director of its police force and one other policeman from the association responsible for defending the interests of policemen;
(6)  four representatives from municipalities, including one from the association responsible for defending the interests of directors of police forces and one from the association responsible for defending the interests of policemen;
(7)  the director general of the institute appointed under section 12.
The term of office of the members appointed by the Government under any of subparagraphs 1 to 6 of the first paragraph is two years. At the end of their terms the members shall remain in office until replaced or reappointed.

(1)  the Deputy Minister of Public Security or his representative;
(2)  the Deputy Minister of Education or his representative;
(3)  the Director General of the Sûreté du Québec;
(4)  the director of the Police Department of the Communauté urbaine de Montréal established under the Act respecting the Communauté urbaine de Montréal (chapter C-37.2);
(5)  a person holding the office of director of a municipal police force, appointed for two years by the Government after consultation with the association representing the chiefs of police of Québec;
(6)  two elected municipal officials, appointed for two years by the Government after consultation with the bodies which represent municipalities;
(7)  three persons from the associations devoted to the protection of the interests of police for members, appointed for two years by the Government after consultation with such associations;
(8)  two persons from the socioeconomic sector, appointed for two years by the Governement;
(9)  the director general of the institute appointed under section 12.
Every member of the board appointed for a specified term shall remain in office at the end of his term until he is replaced or reappointed.
