83. (1)  The board of directors must appoint from among the notaries a secretary, a treasurer, a registrar and, if it sees fit, an assistant secretary and such other officers as it deems necessary. Such officers shall remain in office during good behaviour and while they are capable of acting or until their superannuation, in conformity with their conditions of employment.
(2)  It may also appoint any other person as assistant registrar and assistant treasurer, on such conditions and with such powers as it deems proper.
