2. The Government, in accordance with the Public Service Act (chapter F‐3.1.1), shall appoint a person as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

2. The Minister shall, in particular, have charge of:
(1)  Favouring, by all the methods and means which he may deem adequate, the advancement and development of industry, commerce and tourism in Québec;
(2)  Cooperating with the Government of Canada to facilitate the carrying out in Québec of the acts of the Parliament of Canada relating to industry and commerce so that the industry and commerce of Québec benefit thereby;
(3)  Suggesting practical measures for the rational sale and utilization of the industry and commerce products of Québec, both in this country and abroad;
(4)  Compiling statistics, except demographic statistics;
(5)  Organizing and maintaining tourist information offices;
(6)  Seeing to the carrying out of the laws relating to hotels;
(7)  Participating in exhibitions in Québec or elsewhere;
(8)  Encouraging the development of handicrafts.

The Minister of Finance exercises the functions, powers and duties of the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism provided for in paragraph 4 of section 2 of this Act. O.C. 375-83 of 09.03.83, (1983) 115 G.O. 2 (French), 1414.
2. The Minister shall, in particular, have charge of:
