291. (1)  The Government may:
(a)  authorize the Minister to establish and maintain rescue stations in mines; and
(b)  apportion between operators the cost of establishing and maintaining stations serving several mines.
(2)  The Minister shall fix the number of workmen in each mine who must follow a course on the use and maintenance of rescue apparatus. The operator shall choose from among the employees of his mine the members of each rescue crew, and must see that they follow the course.
(3)  The operator of the mine where rescue operations are conducted shall be responsible for the supervision and direction of the rescue crews.
