9. On a motion of the Prime Minister, the Assemblée nationale shall appoint, by a resolution approved by two-thirds of its members, an officer called the “director general of elections”, whose salary, from 1 January 1975, shall be equal to that of the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court.

Sections 85 and 127 and Part VI of the Courts of Justice Act (chapter T-16) apply to the director general of elections, mutatismutandis, as if he were chief judge of the Provincial Court.

9. On a motion of the Prime Minister, the Assemblée nationale shall appoint, by a resolution approved by two-thirds of its members, an officer called the “director general of elections”, whose salary, from 1 January 1975, shall be equal to that of the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court.

Sections 85, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108 and 127 of the Courts of Justice Act (chapter T-16), respecting the dismissal and the pensions of judges of the Provincial Court, shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to the director general of elections if he is not a judge of the Provincial Court at the time of his appointment as director general of elections or does not become one after having been appointed to such office. If the director general of elections is a judge of the Provincial Court or becomes one after his appointment, the provisions of the Courts of Justice Act applicable to the judges of the Provincial Court shall apply to him and he shall be removed from the office of director general of elections only in accordance with section 85 of the said act.
