452. The Gouvernement shall authorize the director general of elections to publish or cause to be published, in the daily newspapers published in French or in English in cities having a population of at least twenty thousand souls at the last general census, or by television or radio stations indicated in the order-in-council, any explanations or information that it may deem useful to the electors respecting the qualification of electors, the making and revision of the lists, the manner of voting and any other provisions of this act.
Except for the electoral districts established on the Island of Montréal, and in the cities of Sherbrooke, Granby, Québec and Trois-Rivières, the director general of elections may, when he considers it necessary, authorize any returning-officer to publish or have published, any explanations and information mentioned in the first paragraph of this section, in a maximum of two weekly newspapers published in his electoral district; failing any weekly newspapers published in any electoral district, the director general of elections may authorize any returning-officer to publish or have published such explanations or information in weekly newspapers published in any adjoining electoral district.
