404. (1)  It shall be forbidden to give or cause to be given to an elector, on nomination-day or polling-day, on account of such elector having voted or being about to vote, any meat, drink, refreshments or provisions, or any money or ticket to enable such elector to procure the same.
(2)  Any person so offending shall be guilty of an offence and liable, for each offence, to a fine of two hundred dollars and, in default of payment of the fine, to imprisonment for not more than six months.
