370. (1)  During nomination-day and polling-day, the returning-officer or the deputy returning-officer may require the surrender to him of all clubs, firearms, swords or other offensive weapons that any person is carrying or has about him in the room where candidates are nominated, in a polling-station or within a radius of half a mile of the place of nomination of candidates or of the polling-station, as the case may be.
(2)  Every person who refuses to deliver such weapons shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine of two hundred to five hundred dollars and upon failure to pay such fine to imprisonment for three months to one year.
