367. The director general of elections, his assistants and every returning-officer or deputy returning-officer may require the assistance of justices of the peace, municipal constables or persons present, to aid him in maintaining peace and good order at the election. He may also, at the request of a candidate or two electors, swear in such special constables as he deems necessary.
