143. (1)  No person shall vote who, before or during the current election, has accepted any gift, payment, compensation, office, employment, promise or guarantee, made or given by any candidate or other person with intent to influence his vote, or which if he voted would influence his vote; or who expects to receive during or after such election any gift, payment, compensation, office or employment in consideration of his vote.
(2)  No person shall vote at an election who, during any period of a previous annual enumeration or since the date fixed for the issuing of the writ for such election, has committed or participated in any fraudulent act.
