103.5. The total amount of contributions of a Member that serves as the basis for computing his pension in accordance with section 89 is equal to the total contributions that he has provided before 1 January 1983 adjusted annually, at the time prescribed under section 119 of the Act respecting the Québec Pension Plan (chapter R-9), according to the rate of increase of the Pension Index determined by the said Act from 1984 until the time the pension becomes payable.

103.5. The total amount of contributions of a Member that serves as the basis for computing his pension in accordance with section 89 is the lesser of

(1)  the total contributions that he has provided to 1 January 1983 indexed annually, at the time prescribed under section 119 of the Act respecting the Québec Pension Plan (chapter R-9), according to the rate of increase of the Pension Index determined by the said Act from 1984 until the time the pension becomes payable; or

(2)  the total contributions provided to 1 January 1983 and contributions paid under section 103.4.
