69. The sale of alcoholic beverages, when permitted by this act, may be made only on the days and at the hours hereinafter stated:

(a)  for the use of a public carrier permit, every day from eight hours to three hours the following morning;

(b)  for the use of a club permit, every day, from eight hours to three hours the following morning;

(c)  for the use of a trading post permit or a hunting and fishing lodge permit, on work-days, from eight hours to three hours the following morning and, on holidays, at meals only, from thirteen hours to twenty-three hours;

(d)  for the use of a restaurant permit, at meals only, every day, from eight hours to three hours the following morning;

(e)  for the use of a bar permit, subject to subparagraphs f, g and l, every day from eight hours to three hours the following morning;

(f)  for the use of a bar permit at a race-track, from two hours before the time fixed for the start of the first race to the start of the last;

(g)  for the use of a bar permit in a theatre, from the beginning of the spectacle when such spectacle is to begin between twelve hours and twenty-four hours, to the end of the spectacle;

(h)  for the use of a cider seller’s permit, on work-days from seven hours to twenty-three hours;

(i)  for the use of a public house or “pub” or tavern permit, on work-days, from eight hours to twenty-four hours;

(j)  for the use of a grocery permit, every day, from eight hours to twenty-three hours; but a user of a grocery permit shall not sell beer, cider and designated wines under such permit except during the hours, between eight hours and twenty-three hours, when groceries may be open under the Act respecting commercial establishments business hours (chapter H-2);

(k)  for the use of a reunion permit, on the day and at the hours mentioned in the permit;

(l)  for the use of a bar permit in an amphitheatre, from one hour before the time fixed for the beginning of the match or spectacle, when such match or spectacle is to begin between twelve hours and twenty-four hours, until the end of such match or spectacle;

(m)  for the use of a reception permit, every day, from eight hours to three hours the following morning.

When the period provided in this section for the sale of alcoholic beverages includes part of a holiday, sale is authorized during such part of the holiday.

The Commission may change the hours of opening and closing provided in this section on the occasion of gatherings for social, sporting, patriotic or tourist purposes.

No permit may be used on Good Friday.

In municipalities where daylight-saving time is in force, it shall apply to the hours mentioned in this section during the time when it is in force.

Customers shall not be admitted to the room where a permit is used outside of the hours when alcoholic beverages may be sold therein under this section, and customers who are then already in such room must leave it within thirty minutes after the closing time prescribed by this section for the establishment where the permit is used.

Nevertheless, when such room is provided with special equipment approved by the Commission, preventing any access to the place where the alcoholic beverages are kept, the portion of the room where there is not alcoholic beverage may remain open, but no alcoholic beverage shall be consumed there after the period of thirty minutes prescribed above.

Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, at Dorval international airport and at Mirabel international airport, a restaurant permit and a bar permit may be used every day, throughout the twenty-four hours, for the benefit of travellers detained at the airport awaiting the departure of an aeroplane, provided that such permits are used in the rooms designated in the permits.
