167. A person appointed a school commissioner or trustee by the Government must accept such office and cannot resign it.
Nevertheless, members of the Roman Catholic or Protestant clergy, persons over sixty years of age and those who have been school commissioners or trustees within the last four years may refuse to accept such office or resign therefrom after having accepted it.
